Aim to Be Exceptional
The purpose of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.

WHAT IS ROTARACT?
A Bit of Background
Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 40. Rotaract stands for Rotary in Action and is a non-partisan organization that promotes community service, international service as well as fellowship and professional development opportunities. The Rotary Club of Muskoka-Lakes is the sponsor for the start-up of our local club, however the Rotaract club remains a separate entity, with its own executives, structure, and activities, working together toward common goals for Muskoka and surrounding areas.
Today there are over 8,700 Rotary-supported Rotaract clubs with more than 200,000 members spanning 120 countries, making Rotaract one of the largest youth organizations in the world. The Rotaract Club of Muskoka is proud to be a part of this world-wide community.
WHY JOIN ROTARACT?
If you ask a member of our club why they joined, they will tell you it was to develop relationships with like-minded individuals, to get involved in their local community, and to have a great time doing it.
Most Rotaract activities take place at the club level. Rotaract clubs hold formal meetings, twice a month, which feature speakers, special outings, social activities, discussions or visits to other clubs. Club members get together on designated days for service project work, fellowship events, or professional /leadership development workshops. Fellowship activities includes nights out, Christmas parties and even the Rotaract Conference. Our membership fees are only $20 a year, which helps to float events and top up donations. College and university students are always free! We pride ourselves of doing so much with so little and truly making an impact in our Muskoka community.
If you are new to Muskoka, returning after being away, looking to build your resume or just looking for an exciting new way to give back, we would love for you to drop by one of our meetings or email us and we will be pleased to answer any of your questions.
MEETINGS
At Rotaract Club of Muskoka, we meet biweekly. Generally, there is a speaker or event planning that takes place at one meeting, and then either a social focused on fellowship, or a small service project for the next. Regular meetings occur from September through June of each year, then we break for the summer. For up to date information on meetings, please see Facebook or our calendar.

EVENTS
Each year, we host 4 major fundraisers and complete various service projects throughout the year to support our local community and organizations. Our initiatives have raised over $60,000 in five years of active service. Our ever-popular Vinyl Valentines dance occurred on February 9, 2019, and raised over $6,500 for local projects. Our annually sold-out Holiday Wreath fundraiser is happening now!
